Goran Dačev

Goran Dačev (1970), who has published comics in Komikaze (Croatia), Stripburger (Slovenia), and Striper (Serbia), is probably the most outstanding author of underground comics from Macedonia.

He says about himself: “… I have been drawing comics and doing illustration for about 15 years and I experimented with different lengths and different thematics but everything has been in the “underground” sphere (more or less, because what was once “underground” is now at least “ontheground”)…” Dačev often deals with social and political issues in a grotesque, satirical and effective way, and, in the whole opus of Dačev, pessimism and resignation are prominent themes.

The festival Novo Doba wants to invite the author to present his work to the public and also to discuss the contemporary Macedonian comics scene which is relatively infrequently mentioned compared to the other countries in the region.
